I have always been attracted to shiny objects– especially when paired with glamorous gemstones, the higher the quality, the better. In 2000, when I chose to leave behind a lucrative career in high tech, jewelry and goldsmithing was a natural draw.

I discovered the pleasure of working with my hands. After two dozen years of heavy cerebral activities, I am fascinated by the integration of technology and design that brings my ideas to fruition. Ever the scientist, I am always experimenting with new techniques. I love texture and color. The pieces of jewelery I create are fabricated, forged, and cast. I set stones using a variety of techniques to achieve different affects.

It has taken seven years to get to where I am now. My path started with Wolf Mountain Jewelry. I learned to work sterling silver and set gemstone cabochons. I also met wonderful people at many craft shows who continue to support me on my journey. I spent two years building AvantPearl.com, my not-so-successful online business. ‘Nough said. Now, I am designing from my heart. I have a great group of friends, teachers and mentors, Master Bench Jewelers, with whom ideas are discussed and exchanged. I hope you will find the results pleasing.
